On June 24th, Bracebridge Council adopted a Resolution in support of the continued delivery of hospital services on a multi-site basis at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge and the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.
The Petition is being circulated to voice the community’s concerns with the May 27, 2015 decision by the Board of Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare’s to endorse the concept of one centrally-located acute care hospital as the model for long-term sustainable hospital services for the area serviced by MAHC.
Members of the public are being asked to sign a petition supporting the Town’s resolution. The petition requests that the Province of Ontario ensure that a full range of core hospital services, including acute care inpatient, emergency, diagnostic and surgical services, are maintained on a multi-site basis at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge and the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.
