How to obtain a Special Event Permit
The Town of Bracebridge recognizes the benefits of special events in enhancing our community and in providing economic benefits to our business community and also the need to provide some guidelines for the overall health, safety and protection of our citizens.
Special events within the Town of Bracebridge such as parades, exhibitions, fairs, street festivals are all co-ordinated through the Clerk's Branch of the Aministration and Finance Department. Notice of these events are circulated to the respective departments and agencies for comment to ensure all regulations and legislation are adhered to. The Clerk's Branch also ensures a liability insurance policy naming The Corporation of the Town of Bracebridge as a name insured in the minimum amount of 2 million dollars. A $40 dollar administrative fee payable to the Town of Bracebridge is required before any applications will be processed.
An application for a special event permit should be received 90 days prior to the event date. This will provide staff with the time required to circulate the application for comments, and obtain Council approval where required.
