Bracebridge Recreation is excited to offer a fully subsidized leadership opportunity to youth in the community ages 13 to 29 who demonstrate a commitment to personal development and community service.
Program participants will receive training and mentorship from Town of Bracebridge Recreation staff who will support them on their journey to become a fully certified Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Personal Trainer or Fitness Instructor. Participants will receive funding of up to a maximum of $1,300 to support their successful completion of the aquatics and/or fitness certifications required to begin or sustain their career in recreation. Upon successful completion of the certifications and the successful completion of the Town’s recruitment process, program participants will have the opportunity to be employed with the Recreation department in their area of focus.

Selection Process
Outcome
A minimum of eleven individuals will be selected to move forward in the leadership program. These individuals will work towards receiving their industry standard certification in either aquatics or fitness courses. Recreation staff will work with and mentor funding recipients in an effort to help them become job ready with the Town of Bracebridge Recreation Team.
Successful participants will not only receive the certification and experience necessary to prepare them for a career in recreation, but also prepare them to make a positive impact on the community, including:
