The north and south branches of the Muskoka River wind their way through town and eventually make their way out to Lake Muskoka. Added to this is an abundance of smaller lakes, all of which means that there are waterfront properties available in both urban and rural settings. Other housing options include dense downtown developments, historic and modern urban homes, condos, apartments and a wealth of secluded rural settings. With real estate prices 217% cheaper on average than those in Toronto and the lack of gridlock, the move to "The Bridge" can be an easy one to make.
The Town's medical infrastructure, anchored by the 70 bed South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, is also supported by a wealth of independent clinics and practitioners.
The municipality has invested regularly in recreational infrastructure with a comprehensive public Sportsplex, a state of the art 4 diamond baseball facility, a new skateboard park, soccer fields. A new arena is currently in the planning stages.
Bracebridge is also known for its trail network that provide residents, as well as visitors, with 4 seasons of enjoyment.
Perhaps the true gem of Bracebridge's appeal lies with its charmingly historic downtown. Featuring a blend of one-of-a-kind boutiques, eateries and nightlife venues, there is something for everyone who wander the streets and alleyways just north of the iconic Silver Bridge.
Home to one of Ontario's oldest annual outdoor art shows and Canada's first studio tour, the region has long attracted artists who thrive on the inspiration provided by the peace and natural beauty of the environment. Arts and culture have a stronghold in this region as is witnessed by the amazing array of artists' studios, festivals and events that bring people to the region throughout the year.
A recent survey of Bracebridge residents revealed that 99.5% of respondents felt safe or "very safe" in the community. The telephone survey conducted by R.A. Malatest & Associates on behalf of the O.P.P every three years is used to rate not only the service provided by the policing organization but also as a gauge of public concern about crime and policing issues.
