The Bracebridge Public Library is an important community, technology and knowledge centre providing the public with up-to-date collections and relevant programs. The library's purpose is to inspire discovery, open minds, entertain and foster lifelong learning.
The library is an accessible, welcoming place in the centre of downtown Bracebridge. It provides free access to materials, services and programs. The library offers a place to study, research, attend programs, and enjoy gathering and connecting with one another.

Adult Programs

Adult programs include a writing group, a book club, computer training and a variety of workshops and special events.

Visiting Library Service
| The Visiting Library service uses screened volunteers to provide library materials to those who are housebound or unable to access the library for prolonged periods either year-round or seasonally. |
Interlibrary Loan Service
| The interlibrary loan service is a resource-sharing network provided by Southern Ontario Library Service. It enables our patrons to request items from other public libraries. |
Young Adult Programs
| In addition to an up-to-date collection of Young Adult books, the library allows students to gain community service hours and contribute to the library blog. |
Children's Programs
| Children's programs include preschool, afterschool, reading programs with local schools and many special events that engage, entertain and promote literacy. |

- large print fiction and non-fiction;
- audiobooks on CD, Playaway and online;
- magazines in a wide range of subjects including Fine Home Woodworking, Economist, Rolling Stone, Cottage Life, Ontario Gardener, Consumer Reports and more;
- newspapers including Toronto Star and Globe & Mail daily and local newspapers;
- movies including feature films, TV series and documentaries;
- music in a variety of categories including classical, pop, rock, jazz, blues, soundtracks, and world;
- video games for a variety of consoles;
- online resources and research databases; and
- downloadable ebooks.
Local History and Genealogy

The Muskoka Collection is the library's local history and genealogy collection.
The collection includes:
- print collection of histories, cemetery transcripts, atlases and directories;
- newspapers include The Herald-Gazette on microfilm from 1880s to 1996 and The Bracebridge Examiner on microfilm and/or print from 1996 to present;
- unpublished collections and photographs;
- Rene Caisse and Essiac collection and archival material; and
- Our oral Living History Project.
