The Director of Corporate Services/Clerk has many roles that include:
- Acts as a Commissioner of Oaths
- Responsible for municipal elections
- Authorizes the issuance of licences
- Supervises the maintenance of Vital Statistics
- Coordinates appointments to local Boards/Committees
- Undertakes public land sales, acquisitions and leases
- Manages operations for 19 local cemeteries
- Manages corporate Access and Privacy Information
- Acts as liaison to the Town's Lawyer
The Corporate Services Department consists of 3 Branches:
Administration Branch

This branch is responsible for the duties of Director of Corporate Services/Clerk under the Municipal Act, Planning Act, Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, and all other applicable legislation.
The programs and services this branch offers you include:

- Front Counter reception at the municipal office
- Preparation of meeting agendas and minutes
- Preparation of municipal by-laws
- Preparation of staff reports for Committee and Council
- Responding to public enquiries
- Providing information regarding Council activities
- Processing Freedom of Information Requests
- Issuing Marriage Licences, Death Registrations and Special Event Permits
- Coordination and management of Municipal Elections
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail
- Processing property purchases and sales
- Processing original road and shore road allowance closures
- Management and coordination of corporate Information Technology (IT) requirements with service providers and vendors
- Oversees the Organization-Wide Records Management System and has delegated authority to establish and amend the Records Retention Schedule.
- Management of the Town's rental properties
- Operation of 19 local cemeteries
- Coordination of boardroom bookings

By-Law Branch
|
The By-Law Enforcement branch is responsible for the public education and enforcement of over 40 regulatory Town by-laws, including:
- parking (on and off street, including vehicle idling)
- dog control and licensing
- business licencing
- clean yards
- burning
- noise
- docking
The By-Law Enforcement branch may be contacted to report a dog running loose or to pick up a dog caught by a member of the public. Dogs picked up for running at large within the municipality are boarded at the Muskoka Branch of the OSPCA located at 1234 Muskoka Road 118 West in Bracebridge.
By-Law Enforcement Officers enforce parking throughout the municipality, including fire routes and accessible parking spaces on private property. The By-Law Enforcement branch also issues business licences for refreshment vehicles, dog kennels and temporary vendors.
Our Chief By-Law Enforcement Officer has been appointed as the Town's Livestock Investigator under the Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program and serves as a Fence Viewer under the Lines Fences Act.

- Salary and benefits
- Employee and labour relations
- Health and safety
- Wellness
- Training and development
This branch is also involved in the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
