The Diver Sculpture

The Diver, a bronze sculpture by artist Richard Green, is located at the foot of Bracebridge Falls. Standing just under eight feet tall, the work features a stylized figure in motion, inspired by the act of diving. The sculpture celebrates Bracebridge’s strong connection to water and the surrounding natural landscape of Muskoka.

The piece was created using the Lost Wax Method, an ancient casting technique that originated more than 4,500 years ago in Egypt. This process allows artists to produce multiple castings of the same work, with the number of editions contributing to the sculpture’s overall value. The bronze is made from a traditional alloy of approximately 85% copper and 15% tin, valued for its durability, strength, and warm patina.
