Free programs for older adults offer opportunities to move, connect and thrive
BRACEBRIDGE, ON (September 3, 2026) – This fall, the Town of Bracebridge is offering a series of free programs that encourage movement, creativity, connection and healthy living for adults. From gentle exercise and wellness activities to opportunities to create and connect with others, these programs offer welcoming ways to stay active and engaged in the community.
Ageless Motion
For ages 50 and older
Bracebridge Legion from September 21 to November 23
Oakley Village Square from October 14 to December 9
Ageless Motion offers low-impact strength, balance, and mobility sessions designed to support healthy aging, improve functional movement, and reduce the risk of falls. The program helps older adults stay active, engaged, and confident in their daily lives. This program is funded by the Government of Ontario.
Waves to Wellness
For ages 50 and older
Bracebridge Sportsplex
From October 6 to November 5
From November 10 to December 10
This therapeutic aquatic program is designed to support seniors living with disabilities, injuries, mobility limitations, and chronic health conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, cardiac recovery, joint degeneration, stroke rehabilitation, and chronic pain. The program focuses on improving physical function, reducing pain, enhancing mobility, and increasing social engagement. This program is funded by the Government of Ontario.
Moments in Motion: Create, Connect & Move Together
For ages 18 and older
Muskoka Leon’s Auditorium
From October 6 to December 1
This free program is for older adults living on their own who are experiencing dementia or frailty and their care partners. Each session offers a welcoming and supportive environment where older adults and their care partners can take part as a pair and enjoy gentle fitness activities, followed by time to relax and connect over light snacks and conversation.
This program has been generously sponsored by the North Simcoe Muskoka Specialized Geriatric Services Program under the leadership of Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care.
