June is recreation and parks month
BRACEBRIDGE, ON (May 28, 2026) – The Town of Bracebridge is celebrating June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM), a movement that promotes the benefits of recreation and parks for physical, social, and environmental health. JRPM is recognized by municipalities, community organizations, and schools as a way of promoting the benefits of being active and recognizing the contribution that recreation and parks make to quality of life.
FREE Recreation Programs
Throughout the month of June, participate in a variety of programs to get moving and try something new. All JRPM activities are free, but advanced registration is strongly encouraged to secure a spot. Programs include gentle chair yoga, a kid’s triathlon, beginner kickboxing, outdoor bootcamp, karaoke aquafit and more.
Participate throughout the month for the chance to win a birthday party package.
How to participate:
- Visit bracegbridge.ca/JRPM to download your passport or pick one up at the Bracebridge Sportsplex or Muskoka Lumber Community Centre.
- Participate in a variety of JPRM programs throughout the month. Collect stamps by attending the highlighted programs in your passport.
- Earn extra entries by attending a variety of JRPM programs and checking in with staff at each event. Your attendance will be recorded as an entry.
- Drop off your passport to the Bracebridge Sportsplex or Muskoka Lumber Community Centre by June 22 to be entered to win.
- Snap a photo and share your experience by tagging @TownBracebridge on Facebook and Instagram using #BracebridgeJRPM2026 for extra entries. Accounts must be public for posts to be seen.

Explore the great outdoors
Bracebridge is home to a wide selection of trails suited to all abilities and activities, including hiking, biking, birdwatching and more. This month, explore the beauty in your backyard and plan a visit to one of the great trails in town, including:
- Bracebridge Resource Management Centre;
- Bracebridge Bay Trail;
- Collin Cameron Trail;
- South Monck/Covered Bridge Trail;
- Strawberry Point Trail;
- Trans Canada Trail; and
- Wilson’s Falls Trail.
Looking for a route the whole family can enjoy? Take a walk along the storybook trail at Woodchester. This trail features the story, "Lucky the Maple Key", a charming tale about a maple key who shares what it’s like to live and grow in the forest. Don’t forget to enjoy a view of the Muskoka River from the observation deck too.
