Starter Company Plus helps local entrepreneurs launch and grow their business

BRACEBRIDGE, ON (June 17, 2026) – The Muskoka Small Business Centre (MSBC) is calling on aspiring and established entrepreneurs to apply for the Starter Company Plus program, an opportunity offering hands-on business training, expert mentorship, and funding support to help entrepreneurs start, grow, or buy a small business in Ontario.

The program is designed for individuals who are ready to take their business to the next level and provides a tailored experience to help participants develop critical skills and build sustainable success.

Through the Starter Company Plus program, participants will:

  • Receive one-on-one guidance from experienced business advisors;
  • Take part in workshops and networking opportunities;
  • Learn essential business skills such as budgeting, marketing, and business planning;
  • Gain valuable insights from seasoned mentors; and
  • Be eligible for a grant of up to $5,000 to support their business goals.

The MSBC has supported small businesses across Muskoka for more than 30 years, offering guidance through the provincially funded Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC) program. Muskoka’s SBEC program is delivered locally by the Town of Bracebridge and funded in partnership with the Government of Ontario. Services are available to entrepreneurs and businesses throughout the Muskoka region, including free personalized business consultations and resources, as well as impactful programs such as Summer Company and Starter Company Plus.

Applications close on Friday, July 31, and the program runs from late September to December. Entrepreneurs interested in this year’s Starter Company Plus program can learn more about the program and apply online at muskokasmallbusiness.ca/programs or email admin@muskokasmallbusiness.ca.
