NOTICE is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the TOWN OF BRACEBRIDGE that NOMINATIONS in the Town of Bracebridge may be filed for the offices of:

Mayor

One (1) to be elected at large by all voters in the municipality

District and Town Councillors

Three (3) to be elected at large by all voters in the municipality

Councillor (Bracebridge Ward)

One (1) to be elected by all voters in Bracebridge Ward

Councillor (Monck/Muskoka Ward)

One (1) to be elected by all voters in Monck/Muskoka Ward

Councillor (Macaulay Ward)

One (1) to be elected by all voters in Macaulay Ward

Councillor (Draper Ward)

The Town of Bracebridge Council asked the Facilities Working Group to consult  with members of the community, staff in the Recreation Department and staff in the By-law Enforcement Branch to consider the feasibility of developing a dog park in the Town of Bracebridge.

An Off Leash Dog Park community consultation meeting was held on October 3, 2013 and the outcome of the meeting was to form an Off Leash Dog Park Committee who will work with the Facility Working Group on a terms of reference for the Committee.  The Facility working group will select ,from interested members of the community, community members to participate on the committee.

As more information becomes available regarding the progress of this project, it will be provided here on the Town of Bracebridge’s website.

Take Notice that the Council for the Town of Bracebridge will host a Public Meeting pursuant to The Development Charges Act, 1997, regarding proposed development charge rates and policies that will be applied throughout the Town. It is proposed that the enactment of a new Development Charges By-law by Council would occur on a date subsequent to this public meeting.

 

Development Charges are levied against new development, and are an important source of funding for growth-related capital expenditures. Town growth-related capital programs include: Fire Protection; Library Services; Recreation Services; Public Works Services (including Buildings; Fleet; Roads and Related services to Roads; Parks and Trails); and, General Government (Studies).

 

Council is required under The Development Charges Act, 1997, to hold at least one public meeting to allow the public the opportunity to review and provide comments on the 2014 Development Charges Background Study, related staff reports and the proposed Development Charges By-law.

 

All interested parties are invited to attend on:

               Date:          Monday, April 14, 2014
              Time:          7:00 p.m.
              Location:   Town of Bracebridge Municipal Office, Council Chambers, 1000 Taylor Court
                                 Bracebridge, Ontario

 Any person may attend the public meeting and make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed by-law. Written submissions are invited and should be directed to Lori McDonald, Director of Corporate Services/Clerk (lmcdonald@bracebridge.ca). Written comments received prior to the meeting and submissions made at the public meeting will be considered by Council prior to the enactment of a new development charges by-law.

 

Copies of the Development Charges Background Study, related staff report and the proposed Development Charges By-law will be available on or before March 31, 2014 at the Town’s Administrative Offices, at the above noted address, or on-line at www. bracebridge.ca, under “Public Notices”.
