There are a variety of programs, including drop-in and registered options, available for adults of all ages. Choose from mind and body, fitness, wellness, art and sport classes designed for various levels of physical fitness.

General Interest Programs

General interest programs offer a variety of engaging activities designed to spark curiosity, build skills, and bring people together. Whether you're looking to explore a new hobby, develop a talent, or simply connect with others in a fun and welcoming environment, there's something for all ages and abilities.

Explore and discover your artistic self. A wide range of recreational arts programs are offered. Come explore and develop new and existing skills, to develop an appreciation for the arts and to cultivate your imagination.

Programs like: Dance classes, Gardening, Writing, Music, Singing, Holiday Card and Jewellery Making.

Indoor climbing is an increasingly popular form of rock climbing performed on artificial structures that attempt to mimic the experience of the outdoors. Take a course to learn how to climb up, down or across the indoor wall and watch yourself get stronger, more confident and skilled.

Programs like: Women Learn to Climb

These specialty fitness programs are progressive with low participant-to-instructor ratios and a high level of individual coaching.

Programs like: TRX Fitness, Engine Room, Functional Training Circuit, Core-a-lates, Baby + Me Yoga, Strength and Pilates, Beginner Kickboxing, Building Mobility and Stability, Stroll Patrol, Lift to Last: Strength Training for Stronger Bones, Energy Management, Aquatic Arthritis Program, Gentle Chair Workout.

Sport and physical activity supports a healthy lifestyle and are a great way to meet like-minded people. Whether you are a weekend warrior or want to try something new.

Programs like: Canoeing Basics, Learn Disc Golf, Introduction to Pickleball, Volleyball League, Adult Karate, Women-only Learn to Play Volleyball, Women-only Games only.

Through engaging workshops, guided movement sessions, and fun recreational activities, you’ll learn practical strategies to improve overall wellbeing in a supportive and inclusive environment. Whether you’re looking to relax, recharge, or re-energize, these programs offer the tools and encouragement to help you thrive.

Programs like: Tai Chi, Chi King & Meditation - Beginner or Intermediate, Don't Blame Your Parents: Epigenetics and What It Means for Us. 

We’re excited to offer a variety of free programming and activities made possible through generous grant funding! These programs are a great opportunity to learn something new, get active, connect with others, and have some fun—at no cost to participants.

Programs like: Moments in Motion: Create, Connect & Move Together, Ageless Motion, Waves to Wellness, and Broadway Dance for Parkinson's and Other Mobility Challenges.

Sports and Intramurals

Pickleball, basketball, tennis, badminton, table tennis and more! There's something for everyone to enjoy. Intramurals and organized adult sports are also available.

Adult and Older Adult Fitness

Designed for all ages and abilities, programs emphasize building strength, endurance, mobility and balance. The Kubota North Wellness Centre is designed to cater to individuals of all skill levels, providing a comprehensive range of equipment to support your goals. 

  • Land Fitness: Classes designed for adults and older adults include yoga, Pilates, stretching and more.
  • Aqua Fitness: Various classes are offered in our therapy and lap pools.
  • Fitness Orientations and Personal Training: We offer a complimentary fitness orientation for membership and pass holders. During the orientation, a qualified staff member will guide you through the various machines in the Kubota North Wellness Centre, explain their functions, and demonstrate how to use them safely. Consider getting some personal training sessions to set yourself up with a routine to follow after discussing your goals with the trainer. This service aims to:
    • Ensure members feel confident and comfortable using the equipment

    • Help prevent injuries by teaching proper techniques

    • Provide personalized tips based on individual fitness levels and goals
