Screening
A new COVID-19 screening protocol is in effect at all municipal recreation facilities, including the Bracebridge Sportsplex and the Memorial Arena. Screening questions adhere to direction from Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit’s Medical Officer of Health to help determine the likelihood of a person’s exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
- On the day of your program, you are required to complete the www.bracebridge.ca/COVID19SelfAssessment before arriving at the facility. If you answer yes to any of the questions, please call reception to let us know and do not attend.
- When you arrive, a staff member will ask if you have completed the COVID
19 Self Assessment., found at www.bracebridge.ca/COVID19SelfAssessment The Town of Bracebridge will keep an attendance log in the event that contact tracing is required by Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU).
- All participants are asked to stay at home when sick.
- Individuals with underlying health conditions or who are at higher risk of complications if they are infected with COVID-19 are encouraged to consult a doctor before attending a program.

How do I sign up? |
You must register and pay in advance for all drop-in and multiple week programs by pre-registering on-line at www.bracebridge.ca/OnlineRegistration. Registration will be non-transferable and non-refundable. During registration, you will be provided with a link to our facility guidelines and waiver forms found at: www.bracebridge.ca/RequiredParticipationForms
Call the Bracebridge Sportsplex at 705-645-3037 ext. 120 if you need assistance with this process. Daily, 10 and 25 punch passes will be the only passes accepted.
Drop in programs such as walking club, lap swims, public swims, fitness classes, aquafitness and instructional climbing are set up as individual timeslots and available for sign up 6 days prior to the timeslot, to register.
What if I have a Current Term Pass (1, 3, or 6 month, 1 year, walking club, early bird lap swim, climb club)
Due to our reduced schedule and limited capacity in programs, recreation term passes (including Complimentary Passes) will not be accepted until we are fully operational. All term passes including 1, 3, and 6 month, 1 year, walking club, early bird lap swim club and climb club passes have been extended equal to the time of the facility closure, or up to your expiry date and have been placed on hold until further notice. If you wish to cancel your term membership until we are more fully operational you may, and below are your options:
- Cancel your term membership and put the funds towards future purchases such as: 10 or 25 punch passes (no expiry), day passes, or recreation programs.
- Cancel your term membership and receive a refund.
You cannot redeem 2 free Red Cross Swim lessons for 6 month and 1 year term memberships at this time.
What if I have a current 10 or 25 punch pass?
These passes do not have an expiry date and you will be able to use these passes for registering online (at a zero charge) for any drop in classes. You will be required to remove a punch at Reception when entering the Bracebridge Sportsplex.

Prior to arriving at your program |
- You have pre-registered and paid online or by telephone.
- Arrive 15 minutes before your class begins to give staff enough time to perform their screening, and check in process.
- Come prepared and ready to start the class and leave promptly after the class finishes.
- There will be minimal use of equipment in classes until further notice. You are welcome to bring a yoga mat/towel if you wish. Sanitizing equipment between uses will be completed.
- Change rooms are not available at this time for all programs except aquatics. You will be provided a designated space to store your belongings in the program area.
- Lockers are not available, leave valuables at home.
- Water fountains are closed. Refill stations are open. Glass bottles are not permitted on the pool deck.
- Increased cleaning measures are in place, in accordance with Provincial regulations and industry best practices.

Arriving at your program |
- At the Bracebridge Sportsplex please use the hand sanitizer available in the lobby, wear your mask and check in directly with staff at Reception for attendance, to be screened, and to remove a punch from your pass.
- Individuals must follow physical distancing guidelines at all times while in the building. Please review and follow facility signage and direction from staff.
- Markings and traffic flow barricades have been placed in the lobby and throughout the facility to assist in directing you to your program area and exits.
- Markings and/or chairs have been placed on the floor designating a personal 'fitness zone' to ensure physical distancing.
- Participants in need of assistance due to physical limitations should attend with a family member or approved volunteer who can provide assistance. (ask our Customer Service staff about how to volunteer). Staff will refrain from having physical contact with participants except to assist with first aid. Staff have been provided with PPE and additional training to modify first aid procedures to prevent the spread of communicable diseases including COVID-19.
- Do not congregate in the lobby or hallways. Please go directly to your class following checking in at Reception.
- Please limit participation to a maximum of 90 minutes per day to limit frequent, prolonged exposure to COVID-19.

Departing from your program |
- Participants are asked to not loiter in the facility or the parking lot before and after their visit and to maintain 2 metre physical distance from others at all times including the parking lot.
- After leaving your 'fitness zone', wear your mask until you have exited the Bracebridge Sportsplex.
- If you develop symptoms or not able to attend a program, please contact staff at Reception so we can record for contact tracing if required.
