Celebrating National Public Works Week and the 10-year anniversary of the Wave

BRACEBRIDGE (May 14, 2026) – The Town of Bracebridge is proud to recognize and celebrate the dedication and contributions of its Public Works team during National Public Works Week (NPWW), from May 17 to 23. This annual celebration honours the professionals who work behind the scenes to ensure the community runs smoothly and safely.

This year’s NPWW theme, “Rooted in Service. Powered by Community,” acknowledges that the roots of service run deep in public works. It’s what has propelled public works innovations that have helped communities evolve into places where people can lead lives of purpose and possibility.

Public works staff are motivated by a commitment to serve, whether maintaining roads and bridges, clearing snow, or ensuring parks and facilities are clean and accessible. Often unnoticed when everything is running well, these essential workers are always present, driven by purpose and a dedication to the people of Bracebridge.

Bracebridge Transit’s 10-Year Anniversary
During NPWW, the Town will be celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Bracebridge Transit. Since launching in 2016, “Wave” Transit has helped residents, visitors, students, seniors, and workers stay connected to the places and services that matter most. Over the past decade, the service has grown into an important part of daily life in Bracebridge, supporting accessible, reliable, and affordable transportation throughout the community.

To celebrate this milestone, a special 10-year anniversary decal has been placed on the Wave Transit fleet to celebrate the people, partnerships, and community that have helped shape public transit in Bracebridge. Thank you to the riders, staff, operators, community partners, and residents who have supported Bracebridge Transit over the last 10 years.
