EXPLANATION OF THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE PROPOSED MINOR VARIANCE
The minor variance application was submitted in order to construct an addition to a dwelling, a deck with stairs attached to a dwelling and to recognize the location of an existing shed.
Specifically, the applicant is requesting relief from Section 3.3.3.1 of Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2016-088 in order to permit an addition to a dwelling with a 17.88 metre (58.7 foot) setback from the high water mark in the Shoreline Residential Type 2 (SR2) zone, whereas the Zoning By-law requires a setback of 30.00 metres (98.4 feet) from the high water mark.
The applicant is also requesting relief from Section 3.3.3.1 of Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2016-088 in order to permit a deck attached to a dwelling with a 15.38 metres (50.5 foot) setback from the high water mark in the Shoreline Residential Type 2 (SR2) zone, whereas the Zoning By-law requires a setback of 30.00 metres (98.4 feet) from the high water mark.
The applicant is also requesting relief from Section 3.3.3.1 of Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2016-088 in order to permit stairs with a 13.80 metre (45.3 foot) setback from the high water mark in the Shoreline Residential Type 2 (SR2) zone, whereas the Zoning By-law requires a setback of 30.00 metres (98.4 feet).
The applicant is also requesting relief from Section 3.3.3.1 and 4.2.1 iii) of Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2016-088 in order to permit a shed with a 25.15 metre (82.5 foot) setback from the high water mark in the Shoreline Residential Type 2 (SR2) zone and a 2.38 metre (7.8 foot) side yard setback, whereas the Zoning By-law requires a setback of 30.00 metres (98.4 feet) from the high water mark and a 4.50 metre (14.8 foot) side yard setback.
