Step into Bracebridge’s history – Woodchester open for weekly public tours

BRACEBRIDGE, ON (June 19, 2025) – Starting today, residents and visitors are invited to take a step back in time with weekly public tours of historic Woodchester. Tours will be offered every Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. until August 28. This is a unique opportunity to explore one of Bracebridge’s historic landmarks and learn about the stories behind the property. Weekly tours are free and visitors are asked to register in advance.

In addition to guided tours, visitors can enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at how the Town is archiving and digitizing the Woodchester collection for inclusion in the Bracebridge Digital Archive, which launched early in 2025 as a legacy project of the Town’s 150-year anniversary. These efforts are part of Bracebridge’s commitment to making local history more accessible through the Town’s growing digital archive.
