Town celebrates the retirement of Director of Planning and Development

BRACEBRIDGE, ON (March 11, 2026) – After more than 22 years of dedicated service to the Town of Bracebridge, Cheryl Kelley, Director of Planning and Development, has retired.

Throughout her distinguished career with the Town, Cheryl has been a driving force behind many of Bracebridge’s most significant organizational and community initiatives. Her leadership has guided the municipality through periods of meaningful change, growth, and modernization, leaving a lasting impact on both the organization and the community it serves.

Cheryl’s contributions span a wide range of transformational work, including the Community Adjustment Plan, multiple Strategic Plans, Accessibility Plans, digital transformation initiatives, and numerous community planning and economic development projects. Bracebridge’s vibrant downtown has thrived as a result of Chery’s vision and commitment to establishing a development environment that benefits from continued investment from various sectors, allowing for measured and sustainable growth. Her deep institutional knowledge, strategic insight, and collaborative leadership style have helped shape policy, strengthen corporate processes, and support sustainable community growth.

As a member of the Town’s Leadership Team, Cheryl has played an instrumental role in advancing corporate priorities and fostering collaboration across departments. Her mentorship and guidance have supported staff development and strengthened the Planning and Development Department through times of transition and opportunity.
