Town of Bracebridge celebrates opening of 150 Forest
BRACEBRIDGE, ON (September 18, 2025) –Today, Mayor Maloney, members of Council and the community officially unveiled the new Bracebridge 150 forest, a sesquicentennial legacy tree planting initiative, located on Town parkland between Little Ryans Way and Gostick Park.
The forest features trees of varying size and species that align with the Town’s Urban Tree Management Plan, including Serviceberry, Red Maple, Sugar Maple, Yellow Birch, River Birch, Witch-Hazel, Tamarack, Apple (Cortland and Gala), Red Oak, Ironwood, Trembling Aspen, Basswood, Eastern Hemlock, and Nannyberry.
The Bracebridge 150 Forest stands as a lasting symbol of the community’s commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainability, and the health and wellness of future generations. The trees in this legacy project will grow and thrive to be enjoyed by future generations and provides another natural, public space for the community.
