Cemetery etiquette, a respectful place for all visitors
Cemeteries are special places for remembrance, reflection, and honouring loved ones. To help maintain their dignity and appearance, please be respectful of the space and other visitors by following these important tips:
  • Drive slowly and park in designated areas;
  • Keep noise to a minimum, and respect the privacy of those around you;
  • Do not disturb or remove items from other plots;
  • Avoid using glass containers and ensure that all decorations are securely placed to prevent hazards;
  • Pets must be leashed and under control at all times. Please clean up after your pets to keep the cemetery grounds respectful for everyone; and
  • Follow decoration guidelines to avoid interference with maintenance.
The Town encourages all visitors to review the Cemetery By-law 2015-066 before placing any lot decorations. Items that do not comply with the by-law will be removed without notice.
