Town of Bracebridge unveils new downtown mural, We All Come From Water
BRACEBRIDGE, ON (September 12, 2025) – Today, Mayor Maloney, members of Council and the community officially unveiled the Town’s newest public art piece, We All Come From Water, by Canadian artist Jacquie Comrie. Created in partnership with the Downtown Bracebridge Business Improvement Area (BIA), the vibrant mural is located at 19 Taylor Road and stands as a vibrant and welcoming landmark in the heart of downtown.
Comrie’s large-scale mural uses bold colours, flowing movement, and local imagery to reflect Bracebridge’s strong connection to nature and water. Inspired by the waterfalls, rivers, and lakes that define Muskoka, the mural incorporates abstract patterns drawn from local fish species such as rainbow trout, northern pike, and lake trout. Shades of blue, green, and vibrant accents come together to evoke healing, balance, and renewal; themes central to Comrie’s work with colour therapy.
Selected by the Town’s Public Art Advisory Committee following an extensive call for artists earlier this year, this new addition is a vibrant addition to the Town’s collection. Public art plays a vital role in enhancing the Town’s tourism sector by strengthening community lifestyle qualities, and the arts and culture sector. The addition of more public art in the community aligns with Council’s priority of improving community wellness and cultural vitality, and the Downtown Master Plan.
Thank you to Lakeland Power for their assistance and support preparing the site.
