Town to host Lifesaving Society Championship at Bracebridge Sportsplex
BRACEBRIDGE, ON (February 18, 2026) – The Town of Bracebridge is excited to host the 2026 Ontario Senior and Masters Lifesaving Championships at the Bracebridge Sportsplex on March 28 and 29.
This Lifesaving Society sanctioned event will have competitors of various ages compete in short course facilities to demonstrate throwing, towing, and carrying lifesaving skills. Events include 50m and 100m manikin carry with fins, 200m super lifesaver, 4 x 50 medley relay and more.
Call for Volunteers
Help support this exciting sport event. Several volunteer positions are available on Saturday, March 28 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 29 from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Volunteer positions include event timers, runners, in-water equipment crew, general volunteers and more. Volunteers do not need to be available for the entire day, every shift helps.
Each volunteer will receive an event volunteer t-shirt and refreshments. High-school aged volunteers will be eligible to receive documentation towards their 40-hours of community service. All volunteers must be at least 13 years old to participate. Register to volunteer today.
Become a Future Competitor
The Town of Bracebridge offers a Lifesaving Sport course to introduce youth to lifesaving skills through games, teamwork, fair play, and responsibility. Beginning on Saturday, April 11, this course is perfect for swimmers ages 8 to 12 who have finished Swimmer 3 and want to take on a new challenge.
New this year, youth can take their skills to the next level and have a blast doing so at a week of Livesaving Sport Camp beginning August 10. This camp offers an exciting, action-packed week where youth are introduced to the world of competitive lifesaving in a fun and supportive environment. Campers build essential rescue skills while improving swimming strength, speed, and endurance through sport-based activities, games, and team challenges.
Spring session and camp registration begins on Wednesday, March 11 at 7:30 a.m. Schedules are now available to preview at bracebridge.ca/programs.
