Water Safety Bulletin issued for Bracebridge
BRACEBRIDGE, ON (March 6, 2026) – The Ministry of Natural Resources is advising area residents that a Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety Bulletin is in effect until Friday, March 13 for the Muskoka River Watershed and Black River. Please exercise caution around bodies of water. A Water Safety rating indicates that high flows, melting ice or other factors could be dangerous, but flooding is not expected.
Higher than normal water levels and flow conditions may develop throughout the area and residents are reminded to keep a close watch on weather conditions, regularly check for updated messages, and exercise caution near fast-moving rivers and streams. Water levels in most lakes are at or below target for this time of year but are expected to increase with forecasted precipitation and runoff from melting snow.
Residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution around waterbodies and maintain close supervision of children and pets.
Rainfall Warning
Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a rain fall warning for Bracebridge. Beginning tonight through to Saturday evening, Bracebridge could receive between 15 to 40 mm of rain. Please use caution in these conditions.

- Keep an eye on pets and children and use extreme caution around any body of water;
- Keep downspouts clear of ice and debris so water moves away from your home;
- Clear street drains from snow, ice, slush and debris to prevent pooling and ensure water can flow and drain properly;
- Be safe. If temperatures drop, ice will form causing slick surfaces. Make sure to drive according to weather conditions, and clear ice from sidewalks and walkways.
No ice is safe ice
With changing weather temperatures and forecasts, conditions can change rapidly. Exercise extreme caution around all bodies of water.
