Reporting to the Facility Maintenance Coordinator or designate, the Facility Operator 1 is responsible for maintaining the facilities, performing minor maintenance tasks, doing setups and performing custodial services at the assigned facilities to ensure the facilities and equipment are well maintained and safe to operate and occupy.
Reporting to the Public Works Foreperson or designate, the Operator Class 2 is responsible for performing departmental operations including, but not limited to, road and roadside maintenance and construction, as well as infrastructure repairs. Other responsibilities include winter road patrol, winter sand/salt, snow plow and snow removal functions; operating various equipment including, but not limited to, single and tandem axle plow trucks with associated winter maintenance equipment such as pre-wet pumps, sander, tanker, and dump bodies, snow plow blade and wing attachments; front-end loaders, sidewalk plows, limb chipper, chainsaws, weed trimmers and quick-cut saws.
