TOTAL FIRE BAN IN EFFECT
The fire danger rating is set to extreme and a total fire ban is in effect. With increasing temperatures, dry conditions and the threats taking place in much of the country, a total fire ban is needed to ensure the health and safety of the community.
NO fires of any type are permitted at any time, including for cooking and warmth.
On Wednesday December 11, at approximately 3:50 a.m., Bracebridge Fire Department was dispatched to a private waste management facility at 1232 Rosewarne Drive. Upon arrival, crews found smoke and flames coming from a large outdoor pile of refuse approximately 10,000 square feet in size.
Public Works crews continue snow removal operations as a result of last week’s snow event, focusing on pushing back snow along roadways and sidewalk clearing. The Significant Weather Event remains in effect until further notice.

Due to the winter weather event that brought significant snowfall to Bracebridge over the past weekend, the door-to-door food drive in support of the Salvation Army South Muskoka Ministries has been postponed.
Town of Bracebridge recreation facilities are experiencing power outages due to the winter storm. As a result, some amenities are unavailable. All user groups and rental parties have been contacted.
Town cemeteries will close for the season beginning Wednesday, November 27. No interments or monument installations will take place.
