Real Estate Signage

Regulations:

• Location: The sign must be located on the property that is for sale or lease.

• Limit: One (1) sign per property.

• Sign Sizes:

  • Residential Signs: Maximum area of 1 sq. m (10.8 sq. ft) per face.

  • Seasonal and Rural Residential Signs: Maximum area of 2 sq. m (21.5 sq. ft) per face.

  • Large Rural Land Signs (>10 acres): Maximum area of 4 sq. m (43.1 sq. ft) per face.

  • Commercial or Industrial Signs: Maximum area of 4 sq. m (43.1 sq. ft) per face.

• Not Official Signs: The placement of a Real Estate Sign must not be of a design that could be confused with an Official Sign, Warning Sign or any other type of sign.

• Wayfinding: You are permitted to include wayfinding arrows (with your realtor logo) on the main sign where appropriate.

Regulations:

• Off-Site Permitted: Unlike "For Sale" signs, these are permitted on municipal road allowances to help direct traffic.

• Size Limit: Maximum area of 0.5 sq. m (5.4 sq. ft).

• Timing: Signs may only be displayed on the day of the open house. They must be removed immediately after the event.

• Prohibited Locations:

  • Centre Medians: You cannot place signs on the centre median of a street.

  • Sight Triangles: Signs must not block the view of drivers at intersections (the corner area roughly 7.5 m to 15 m back from the intersection, depending on the speed limit).

  • Hazards: Signs must not obstruct pedestrian traffic on sidewalks or interfere with official traffic signs.

• Prohibited Types: Please remember that Feather Banner Signs and Animated Signs are prohibited in Bracebridge.
